Things To Do
There are a variety of outdoor and cultural activities available throughout the year in the Yuba-Sutter area. Hikes to the interior and the peaks of the Sutter Buttes are available seasonally. The Feather, Sacramento and Yuba Rivers provide boating and fishing opportunities. The foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains have many lakes for water skiing, fishing, or camping. Waterfowl hunting is popular in the fall and winter months. Because of the area's strategic location along the Pacific Flyway, millions of migratory birds come through the area, making it a paradise for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts and sportsmen.
Anytime during the year you will find a host of festivals, cultural events, shopping, wining and dining. There are a variety of golf courses in the area. The Harkey House is just a ten minute walk from downtown Yuba City, the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds, the Saturday Morning Farmers Market, Gauche Aquatic Park and Feather River Parkway.
Yuba City has a wonderful variety of restaurants. We are happy to make suggestions and reservations for you based on food preference. Below are some of the restaurants we personally love and highly recommend.
The Harkey House is a forty minute drive from Sacramento, two and a half hours from San Francisco and two hours from the Lake Tahoe area.
